As the month of May moves along, it is time again to join in the monthly team blog hop for Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Programme. As always, after visiting my Blog and checking out my project, I encourage you to follow the links and continue on a Worldwide hop. I know you will be rewarded by a beautiful array of imaginative and creative projects.
My Card
I was having a browse through Pinterest the other day and looking at projects made with the Bird Ballad suite, which is still available in the retiring list here in the UK. I came across a card that used a splatter effect in the background. As is often the case, I cannot now find that project to acknowledge the original creator, but it stuck in my mind and I used that inspiration when I created this project.
I used the Subtle palette of colours and the splatter stamp from the Painted Poppy stamp set to create the Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron and Balmy Blue background on the Whisper White stitched label.
To stamp the birds, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the image with Stazon and then to stamp over it once more to create a good, solid, black image.
I created a standard Whisper White Card base. I adhered together a Pear Pizzazz mat and a So Saffron mat. I added a strip of Blushing Bride that had been embossed with the new Ornate Floral Embossing folder. I wrapped a length of linen thread around these mats a few times, before sticking them to my card base. I added some faux stitching – I love a bit of faux stitching.
I positioned the stamped label onto the card using dimensionals. I tucked some Pear Pizzazz punched sprigs underneath the label. The greeting was taken from the Share Sunshine download, which is bursting with sentiments that are perfect for sending out to friends and family at this time. It also has the added benefit of raising much needed funds for worldwide charities who are working to support communities everywhere. All of the proceeds are going straight to the charities.
You can buy the Share the Sunshine download here
I added some Blushing Bride pink ink to the edge of the sentiment banner. The final finishing touches were a double linen thread bow and some rhinestones.
