As Autumn starts to sneak in, I thought I would bring you a winter flowering pansy card.

A Winter Flowering Pansy Card

A card featuring winter flowering pansies using Stampin' Up's Pansy patch bundle

These little flowers keep going when so many others rest for the colder months. They can be found everywhere in the UK now, ready to go into gardens and planters to keep us smiling when the days got shorter and colder.

Pansy Petals Suite

Stampin’ Up’s Pansy Petal Suite is such a fabulous set of products. The papers in this suite highlight a brighter, more summer like palette of colours. Instead, for my winter flowering pansies, I have teamed the dies up with some slightly darker shades.

I used Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Blackberry Bliss and Merry Merlot for the flowers and Mossy meadow for the leaves. These dies provide layers to build up on both the flowers and the leaves – although I didn’t add layers to my leaves. The dies also emboss detail into the die cut pieces. the result is really beautiful.

I arranged my blooms on a Basic White label cut with the Stitched so Sweetly dies. The background Designer Series Paper is a piece of Crumb Cake patterned paper from the neutrals 6″ x 6″ pack.

I used a standard sized Merry Merlot card base, with a Basic White mat to add a pop behind the Designer Series Paper layer.

The greeting is from the coordinating Pansy Patch stamp set and is stamped in Merry Merlot ink. A bow of linen thread and some sequins from the Artistry Blooms Self Adhesive collection added finishing touches to the card front.

I added a strip of the DSP to the white insert to tie it in with the front of the card.

How Can I help?

I hope you like this different colour scheme for the pansies. It makes them an excellent choice for a spot of Autumnal Crafting. Then they will also be a good go to through the winter months.

They don’t just brighten our gardens they can brighten our mantelpiece too.

Meanwhile stay safe and stay well
