The theme for this month’s Stampin’ dreams blog hop is Movies/TV, so I have created a Wizard of Oz inspired card.

A Wizard of Oz Inspired Card

This Wizard of Oz inspired card features rainbows, yellow brick road, blue birds and sparkly red shoes.

Here you will find rainbows, yellow brick roads, blue birds and ruby slippers. Just click your heels and you are away

Instructions

The rainbow sunburst background was created by taking a 1″ by 5″ strip of card in each of the 7 rainbow colours and cutting them diagonally. Starting with the Gorgeous Grape strip, it was stuck down the middle of a piece of 5″ x 3 3/4″ / 13.9cm x 9.5cm piece of card (colour of card doesn’t matter). The rest of the strips were then stuck around the card, each one butting up against its neighbour, in Rainbow order.

The Yellow brick road was created by cutting a wavy strip of Daffodil Delight cardstock with the Curvy Dies and then embossing it with the Bricks and Mortar folder.

We of course needed blue birds and these were from the Grace’s Garden stamp set and coordinating Garden Gateway dies.

The red shoes in this Wizard of Oz inspired card, have been given sparkle be spritzing them with White Frost Shimmer paint.

And Dorothy’s ruby slippers were stamped using the Dressed to Impress set and die cut with the coordinating All Dressed Up dies. I then used a mixture of Frost White Shimmer paint and rubbing alcohol in a Spritzer to add sparkle to the shoes. This glamorous footwear was added to a brick embossed stitched circle. A black circle was added behind, along with a swirl of ruched ribbon. To show our love, a few resin hearts were added.

The sentiment from Stampin' Up's Many Messages stamp set is perfect for a card with a magical theme.

The greeting, from the Many Messages set, seemed very fitting for a card depicting this magical tale of Oz.

I think we are ready to head off to the Emerald City – or at least to hop off off to some other blogs to see what other films or TV shows have been depicted.
