For the projects today I have been exploring ways of adding colour to Vellum as part of the Technique Squad Blog Hop.
This is my first time joining this hop. It is open to demonstrators around the world and is focused each month on different techniques.
This month’s technique is Vellum Colouring.
Adding Colour To Vellum
These projects have been created using two different stamp sets. The colours I used on my Vellum where perfect for sea and sky projects. I used images from the Feathered Flight set containing ducks which is an Online Exclusive set and also the Sea Turtle set from the Annual Catalogue.
You can see a full list of the products I have used at the end of the post, including links to my online shop.
Using Ink Pads
This first project has a mat of Vellum that has been coloured by swiping an Azure Afternoon ink pad across the Vellum and then adding shaded patches using the same colour and a Blending Brush.
The clouds have been punched from both white vellum and white cardstock. The blue background gives the white vellum the appearance of being pale blue.
I used Stampin’ Write markers to colour direct to the flying duck stamp and then once cut out he was added to layered dotty circles, die cut using the Everyday Details dies.
The white Baker’s Twine was coloured with an Azure Afternoon Blend to coordinate and some blue sequins also gave the finishing touch.
Using Stampin’ Blends
For this second project the large sea turtle was stamped onto Vellum and then heat embossed in silver. The back of the image was then coloured using Azure Afternoon and Pretty peacock Stampin’ Blends.
To create the wavy background, a piece of Azure Afternoon cardstock was embossed with the Cascading Ruffles 3D folder, before lightly swiping white craft ink across the surface.
Dotty Rectangles were used to create the canvas for the turtle to sit on. Finally some silver ribbon and Pretty Peacock sequins were used to embellish the card front.
