In today’s post I have been exploring alternatives to flowers in cardmaking for this monochromatic INSTA hop.
Each week Demonstrators from the Crafty Collaborations Community take part in a Monochromatic Insta Hop over on Instagram. Each week a different colour is chosen and the participants create a monochromatic card.
The colour this week is Garden Green and I can’t wait to see all the other ideas that my fellow demonstrators have come up with
Alternatives To Flowers In Cardmaking
Both of the papers on this standard sized Garden Green card base come from the To Market Suite. This Suite features lots of vegetables and flowers. There are dies to cut the two step stamped images and they will also work with images from the Designer Series paper.
I think this cabbage image is great for a more masculine card or for anyone who loves to grow-their-own, or just enjoy healthy eating. We have so many beautiful floral images, but they are not always appropriate for the card we want to send.
This card features 2 cabbages, stamped in both 1st and 2nd generation garden green ink. the second cabbage is die cut and layered over the first on a 2″ punched circle of Basic White. a 2 3/8″ punched garden green circle is then layered at the back.
I love this big “hello” sentiment. It is perfect for lots of occasions, or if you are sending a “just because” card.
The Garden Green transparent Dots are also part of the To Market Suite and make a great addition to this project.
The double bow of Garden green Linen Thread is not yet universally available, but will feature in the September-December Mini catalogue, but it was just too perfect not to use for this project.
