Having an Attitude of gratitude is so important as we navigate through life. I am a strong believer in the power of positivity. Life can be tough, we all have challenges to face, but I know I am much better if I can look for what I can do in every situation, rather than complain about what I can’t. Be a positive Polly, Not a negative Nelly
This new festive Friday Challenge is inspired by Thanksgiving. We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in the UK, but I do think there is great benefit to having a time when you can stop and reflect on all the things you are thankful for.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My Attitude of Gratitude Project
The Walk in the Woods stamp set is perfect for water colouring. I stamped the images onto some of our Fluid 100 water colour paper with Saddle Brown Stazon. Taking my water painters I painted my toadstools and grass and a water colour wash sky. The dots on the toadstools were added with the embossing end from the Take your Pick tool and Frost White shimmer paint. A water colour pencil was used to give a darker shade around the edge of the toadstools.
I stamped 5 leaves on a strip of water colour paper and water coloured them. They had a base coat of crushed curry and then I added varying amounts of Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green and Real Red. After cutting them out, I scrunched them up a little and attached them with a mini dimensional at each end and allowing the centre to curve. A double bow of linen thread was tucked into the leaves at the bottom of the card.
For the acorn, I punched the shape from water colour paper and painted it, adding details with an Early Espresso water colour pencil.
The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of Crumb cake card and then embossed with the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder. using a sponge, Both ends of the strip were torn and I softly brushed some Soft suede ink over the top to highlight the “grain”.
Using my Stamparatus and my strip as a guide, I stamped the two sentiment images on my card front, before then adding the wood strip with dimensionals.
I mounted my painted canvas onto a Soft Suede card base.
