I have created an autumn card using alcohol markers to colour for today’s project.

This is my design Team project for the new Festive Friday Challenge that begins today. For Challenge #119 we are celebrating Farmer’s Day which is coming up on October 12th. We all have so much to be thankful to farmers for as they work long hours, whatever the weather, to keep us supplied with food.

Using this theme as our guide, the Design Team put together this list of inspiration for your creative projects.

The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge.  Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all!  The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!

My project used: Gingham, Green, Die Cut, Harvest, Kraft Card

An Autumn Card Using Alcohol Markers

An Autumn Card Using Alcohol Markers from Stampin' Up's Stampin' Blends range and the Hello Harvest bundle.

For my project I used the images and coordinating dies from the Hello Harvest Bundle and teamed it with some of the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper and a Kraft notecard.

Autumn Wishes

Using Stampin' Blends to colour this autumn wishes card using Stampin' Up's Blends and Hello harvest bundle.

The images were all coloured with Stampin’ Blends. I used both Light and Dark shades of the colours to add the detail and to give variety in the leaf colour. For some of the leaves I used dark Mossy Meadow and for others Light Mossy Meadow.

The great thing about our stamps , is that invariably the designer has given you clues as to where to add your darker colour, just by following where the shade lines have been drawn. When I was colouring the Cherry Cobbler flowers, I used dark at the base of the petals and along the shade lines and then blended the rest of the petal with Light Cherry Cobbler. These flowers aren’t too large, but if working on larger flowers it is worth just working on small sections as a time, because the colours blend best when the ink is fresh.

You don’t only have to stick with two shades of the same colour to achieve your blended images. For the flower centres I used Pumpkin Pie around the edge and Daffodil Delight in the centre and then blended the two together.

The green gingham paper comes for the bumper Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper pack. You get 48sheets of DSP in this pack which gives you colours for your Autumn, Halloween and Christmas projects.

The Autumn Wishes sentiment came from the Fond of Autumn stamp set and was inked with Pumpkin Pie before being fussy cut.
