Today’s project uses the Apple Blossoms Dies – Available for a limited time!
This is another project shared from the Blog Co-op and this time submitted by Robin Messenheimer
All during the month of September 2022, there will be six new Stampin’ Up! die sets available. All of the sets coordinate with stamp sets already available for purchase, either from the 2022-23 Annual Catalogue or the July – December 2022 Mini Catalogue.
Apple Blossoms Dies – Available for a Limited Time!
One of my favorites from this promotion is the Apple Blossoms Die set that goes with the Apple Harvest Stamp Set from the mini catalogue. I love the way that the dies allow me to place the stamped images on a base of coloured cardstock, such as with the large branch of apples in this card. I also like that I can stamp and die-cut the apple blossoms and layer them wherever I’d like to. The Apple Blossoms Die set is one I’ll cherish having as I stamp autumn-themed projects over the next few months.
Other Dies in the Promotion
Other stamp sets that have die sets available for purchase during September are:
- Fresh Cut Stems Dies, to go with the Fresh Cut Flowers Stamp Set (Annual Catalogue)
- Playful Piggy Dies, to go with the This Birthday Piggy Stamp Set (Annual Catalogue)
- Tree Trimming Dies, to go with the Trimming the Tree Stamp Set (Annual Catalogue)
- Waterfall Canyon Dies, to go with the Waterfall Canyon Stamp Set (Annual Catalogue)
- Yeti Dies, to go with the Yeti to Party Stamp Set (Mini Catalogue)
If you haven’t bought the stamp sets yet, you can buy bundles that include both the die set and the stamp set at a 10% discount!
Instructions
- Fold the card base to make a standard size card
- Die-cut the long strip of Pale Papaya Cardstock with the scallop die from the die set.
- Emboss the large piece of Pale Papaya Cardstock using the Timeworn Type folder
- Apply Tear & Tape Adhesive to the back of the left edge of the Pale Papaya Cardstock, making sure to apply it right up to the edge of the cardstock.
- Starting with one end of the die-cut scallop edge, adhere the “legs” of the scallops to the Tear & Tape Adhesive. When you are finished, trim the excess piece of scallops.
- Adhere the Pale Papaya Cardstock to the card base, centering the entire piece left to right.
- Stamp the following onto the Very Vanilla Cardstock: Large apple branch and apple blossoms (3) using Tuxedo Black Ink; “The Greatest Gift is a good Friend” sentiment, using Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Pad. As you do this, remember that each of them will be die-cut. So leave room for the dies.
- Colour the apple branch and apple blossoms.: Use: Granny Apple Green Light Stampin’ Blend for the apples; Mossy Meadow Light Stampin’ Blend for the leaves; the darker of the Medium Deep Stampin’ Blends (if you have blends with numbers, it’s 400) for the branches; Petal Pink Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends for the blossoms. I left small openings in the Granny Apple Green colouring to simulate light reflecting. For the blossoms, I coloured them using the Light blend marker and then added a bit of the dark marker to the center of the blossom.
- Die cut the apple branch and blossoms with the coordinating dies. Die cut the sentiment using the oblong shape that fits the sentiment.
- Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere the sentiment to the Pale Papaya layer towards the top of the card, and the apple branch centered between the bottom of the sentiment and the bottom of the card.
- Using Mini Glue Dots, adhere the three apple blossoms to the apple branch.
- Using the Pale Papaya Ribbon, tie a bow. Adhere it to the top of the apple branch using Mini Glue Dots.
How Can I Help?
Robin’s pretty project illustrates that having the dies to match the stamp sets makes creating cards so much easier. That would have been a lot of fiddly fussy cutting!
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can help with your purchases, or if you have a crafty question.
Meanwhile stay safe and stay well
