I have created a blended background fantasy themed card for this latest Blog Hop from the Crafty collaborations team.

This theme was a real challenge, but after researching lots of fantasy art pictures for inspiration, I came across a White Stag. Our Deer Builder Punch features antlers as well as the deer and I thought about our Speciality Mother of Pearl paper and an idea was born.

I can’t wait to see what projects everyone else has come up with in this hop.

My Blended Background Fantasy Themed Card

I first added Misty Moonlight, Gorgeous Grape and Magenta Madness ink to a piece of Basic White card with our fabulous Blending Brushes. Using a Sponge Dauber and some White Craft Stampin’ Ink Refill, I added a circle of white in the centre. I splattered some diluted white ink and some Misty Moonlight ink onto the background.

Onto this background, I stamped the trees from the Peaceful Deer Stamp set using Memento ink and my Stamparatus. This enabled me to over stamp until I got the desired intensity. Where you over stamp the White ink, you do get a softer colour, but it adds to the moonlit look. Using a water Painter and some white ink, I added white to the ends of the tree branches on the right-hand side.

The Deer and antlers were punched from Mother of Pearl paper and stuck in place. This mat of card was then mounted onto a Basic Black mat and a Gorgeous Grape card base.

The sentiment, from the Daisy Lane stamp set was heat embossed in white onto Black cardstock. A bow of silver thread was attached under this and it was added to the card front with dimensionals.

To finish some white and holographic stars were added from the Sparkle and Shine Sequin Assortment.
