For this blog hop I have been CASE-ing a Card from the Catalogue

This latest Stamping With Friends Blog Hop invited us to do a bit of copying and sharing from either the Annual or the Mini catalogue. I choose to find a project from the Friends of the Ocean Suite page in the January – April Mini Catalogue.

The card in the top right features crabs that have been die cut from the gorgeous patterned paper pack. I have made to cards, one using the same suite and another using a different bundle entirely.

CASE-ing a Card From The Catalogue

My first card kept quite close to the original. I did however make mine a DL sized card and I used a second design of patterned paper on the card base, showing beneath those wavy edges. Those edges were created with the fabulous die that is included in the collection.

I swapped the sentiment for another one that features in the Ocean Friends stamp set and then to finish I added some of the Sunny Days Iridescent Dots and a double bow of white twine.

Toadstools.

For this second card, I maintained the base layout of the CASE’d card, but I used the Terrific Toadstools stamp and punch bundle and teamed it with the Toadstool Garden Designer Series paper that is one of the options in this year’s Sale-a-Bration.

Instead of cutting a border along the edge of this striped paper, I simply tore it. that was then layered onto another design from the paper pack that i had used to cover the front of my card base..

The tops of the toadstools were stamped in Highland heather and Pool Party ink, before being punched out. The stems were stamped in Soft Sea Foam. I added some Rainbow Adhesive backed dots to finish this card.
