For this month’s Casually Crafting Blog hop, I have designed some Christmas Cards using a sketch as my inspiration

The idea behind this blog hop is to show that you can create beautiful cards even if you don’t have lots of equipment. These beautiful cards are great for crafters who are just starting out, but even avid crafters will love to try these designs.

This sketch challenge has been the inspiration for all the projects in today’s blog hop.

Christmas Cards Using A Sketch

As always with sketch challenges, the sketch is there to get ideas flowing and so you should never be afraid to play around with it a bit – changing shapes and orientation.

For both of my Christmas Cards, I have used Designer Series papers from the Celebrate Everything Bumper pack of 12″ x 12″ papers. This pack is one of the choices available to someone who has earned Host Rewards, either by hosting an event, or by placing an order of £150 or more. You would need £16.50 worth of Host Rewards for this paper pack, so the order generated would need to be £165 or more.

Christmas Tree Card

This first card uses three different papers from the pack. I have started with a tent fold Shaded Spruce card and added a back panel of Granny Apple Green paper. Two blocks of Shaded Spruce paper have been added to the sides and the main panel ids a Black & White print that I have coloured with Stampin’ Blends.

Using a Granny Apple Green Blend, I have coloured some white cotton metallic edged ribbon, which is tucked under a sentiment from the Leaves of Holly stamp set. Some silver sequins have been added for a finishing touch.

Holly Card

For this second card, I have added Designer series paper to a Poppy Parade card base. the central mat has been stamped with the holly from the Leaves of Holly Stamp set. This two step stamp set gives such beautiful details to the holly leaves and berries. This card has been embellished with some clear Elegant Faceted Gems.

For the inside of both cards, I have added a Basic White insert and a strip of Designer Series Paper to coordinate with the front.
