It is time to have some fun joining in with Kylie’s Demonstrator Blog Hop
One of the products I fell instantly in love with in the new Autumn/Winter catalogue was the Christmas Countdown Project Kit,
This adorable kit with its 25 little drawers are just waiting to be filled with Christmas treats. And there is no reason why you can’t turn the drawers around decorate that side with different papers , stamps and embellishments for an alternative look and purpose.
But once you have completed your gorgeous project, you still want to find projects to create with the Christmas Countdown stamp set. There are various grungy type images in here as well as borders and small focal points. so I thought I would have a play and see what I could come up with.
I teamed the stamp set with our new Delicata metallic pigment inks and the Toile Tidings Designer series papers to create a couple of very different Christmas cards.
This first card definitely took its inspiration from the Grungy corner stamp in the set. I used second generation crumb cake ink to stamp around the edge of a piece of very vanilla cardstock, before tearing it and sponging it. I added in the dotty stamp using the gold metallic ink. The foliage image was stamoed onto a stitched rectangle of very vanilla card stock. A blender pen was used to drag the colour out in the larger leaves and a wink of stella pen added sparkle to the berries. Some gold snowflakes were added again with the metallic ink. Some stripy garden green paper. a stitched rectangle of goled foil and a sentiment banner were added into the mix and everything was mounted onto a cardbase of thick very vanilla. A few green rhinestones from the holiday basic pack gave the finishing touch.
Red gingham paper from the Dsp pack provided the background to this pack and copper metallic ink and copper embellishments were added. The two border stamps were used to create the panel. They were mounted onto the stamparatus and the hinged technique ensured even spacing in copper and real red.
The copper star from the brightly gleaming foil elements pack was backed with a real red stitched star and smaller stitched stars were added to the front. One of the copper star designer elements was placed in the centre of the large star. The copper stamped “Joy” sentiment came from the So Many Stars stamp set.
It was lovely to be able to use this collection of relatively small stamps to make a big impact.
Whether you just want to make up the kit, or make so much more, I know you are going to love these products.
