In today’s post I am sharing how to create a flower pot card.
The project is part of the monthly Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop from the Crafty Collaborations community, a diverse group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world who come together to share inspiration with you.
Create a Flower Pot Card
To create the pot, I used the Marigold Moments bundle to create the abundance of blooms in the bundle. Of course you could substitute any of our gorgeous flower stamps and dies.
Create The Flower Pot
Create a card base from a 22cm x 10.5cm / 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Soft Suede card stock, scored at 8.5cm, 11cm and 13,5cm / 3 1/4″, 4 1/4″ and 5 1/4″ on the long side. Fold on the 11cm/ 4 1/4″ score mark.
On the bottom edge make a pencil mark 1.5cm 5/8″ in from each edge and cut diagonally from the top fold to the pencil mark to create the pot shape. Keep the offcuts.
Add some glue to the inside top part of the card base between the score lines and stick this section together.
For the insert, cut a 8cm x 10cm piece of Basic White card and use the offcuts of Soft Suede card to shape the sides.
Flowers
I stamped enough of the two step stamping flowers to fill the pot. The colour combinations I used were Crushed Curry & Merry Merlot; Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody.
The bottom row of flower pieces were stuck to the flower pot between the two score lines. The rest of the flowers are then built up behind these foundation layer.
When you are putting the card together, it is worth having your envelope near by so you can check the height and width of the arrangement to ensure the finished card will fit in the envelope.
Stick a 2.5cm x 10cm strip of Soft Suede card to the top of the pot to cover the glued stems. Die cut a a border from Soft Suede card and stick to the top of the pot. To finish I wrapped some Linen Thread around the pot where it is scored.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
