In this blog post you will see how to create a pinwheel card with patterned paper.
The theme of the new Festive Friday Challenge is World Party Day that is happening on April 3rd. Using this fun theme as our inspiration, the Design Team came up with a list of suggestions to inspire your creativity.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: pinwheels, polka dots, bright colours, twine, celebratory sentiment, rhinestones, layers
Create a Pinwheel Card with Patterned Paper
I decided to use some bright papers to create some pinwheels to go on the front of my card.
Instructions
These simple pinwheels are created from a square of paper. I simply places the square on the diagonal along the track of my trimmer. Starting about 1cm/ 3/8″ out from the centre cut out towards the point. Repeat on all four corners
You then need to bring points A, B, C and D to the centre, pierce a hole and add a brad. I coloured a square white brad with a Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend.
My card uses layers of the You’re a Peach Designer Series paper on a Basic White card base. The scalloped rectangle was cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies and was embossed with the Dotty Embossing Folder. Some narrow strips of Designer Series Paper were used for the pinwheel sticks.
The sentiment for this card was taken from the Celebrate Sunflower set. I coloured some Basic Rhinestones with a Calypso Coral blend to coordinate with the papers. All that was left was to add a small bow of white twine.
Let’s Hop
