Creating a Card with a Collage Monochrome Background

Each week Demonstrators from the Crafty Collaborations Community take part in a Monochromatic Insta Hop over on Instagram. Each week a different colour is chosen and the participants create a monochromatic card.

The colour this week is Pecan Pie and I can’t wait to see all the other ideas that my fellow demonstrators have come up with

Creating a Card with a Collage Monochrome Background

For my card I used the Beautiful Motifs stamps and dies. Extra detail was then added with stamps from the Elements of Text stamp set.

I stamped the floral image from Beautiful Motifs repeatedly across the mat of Pecan Pie card in Pecan Pie ink. I used the smaller text stamp from Elements of Text to add a border top and bottom and then added some splatters using the stamp.

Next, I distressed the edges of this card mat, before using a Blending Brush to add ink around the edges.

There are 2 foliage dies in the Beautiful Motifs bundle. One cuts the fern type leaves out completely. The other cuts the leaf into the card stock, giving you elements that lift up. I trimmed the two fern leaves slightly on the edge where they but up to the integral leaf. Once the leaves were stuck on the mat, I added it to a Pecan Pie card base.

The bow was made from Crumb Cake twine. I added it to the leaves with a glue dot and added 1/2 a glue dot under each end to fix them in place.

The sentiment was stamped in pecan Pie ink onto some Crumb Cake card and then the edges were inked with the Blending Brush that we used previously.

Some Brass Butterflies finished the card front off.

I used the fern trimmings to help decorate the card insert.
