This month I have been busy creating a cute angled side lock card for the Fun/Fancy Folds Blog Hop

This hop is open to demonstrators around the world and is focused each month on different fun/fancy folds.

I had great fun creating this cute angled Side Lock Card using the Cute As A Bug Suite, a fun collection that can be found in the January-April Mini Catalogue.

Creating A Cute Angled Slide Lock Card

Metric MeasurementsImperial Measurements
Old Olive Card Base14.9cm x 26cm, scored at 10.4cm , 21cm 5 1/2″ x 10 1/2″, scored at a touch below 4 1/4″ and 8 1/2″
DSP (Toadstools)14.4cm x 10cm4″ x 5 1/4″
DSP (leaves)4.5cm x 14.4cm1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″
Basic White9.5cm x 13.9cm3 3/4″ x 5″

You will also need 2 Old Olive die cut circles and 1 Basic White. I used the 3rd 7 4th largest from the Stylish Shapes Dies.

Score and fold the card base. On the end 5cm/2″ strip, make a mark in the centre of the top at 2.5cm/1″ and cut from this mark to the bottom right-hand corner to form the angled flap.

With the Leaf print DSP, make a mark at the top centre point (2.25cm/7/8″) and cut to the bottom left hand corner.

Add the DSP mats to the card base.

Use the long narrow die from the Textured Notes dies to create the slit in the front of the card, cutting it first from the main card front and then realigning the die to cut it from the flap piece.

Add ink blending around the edge of the card.

Blend some ink onto the white circle and then stick to one of the Old Olives Circles. Add the other circle to the back of the slit and attach the two pieces together with dimensionals

Decorate the front circle with elements die cut from the paper.

Add a fussy cut sentiment to the card front along with an Old Olive Linen Thread bow.

Add a Basic White insert. Attach the rectangle you die cut to form the aperture to the Basic White mat so it shows through the aperture. Stamp some Cajun Craze toadstools along the bottom.
