For todays Blog Hop I have been creating a Gatefold Card.
The theme of this hop with the Stamping With friends Community is “Anything Goes”. It is a chance for us to share some of the projects we have been working on.
Creating a Gatefold Card
This was my first opportunity to play with the bright, vibrant and fun Rain or Shine Suite. The Playing in the Rain stamp and dies bundles features a trio of cute creatures that don’t let a spot of rain get in the way of having a fun time.
the Speciality Designer Series Paper has a special UV coating on some of the designs which gives it a wet look.
The adorable little daisy embellishments have a foam feel to them and you will want to add them to all sorts of projects.
Gatefold Card
To create this card, I took a 20.8cm x 14.9cm piece of mango Melody cardstock and scored it at 5.2cm and 15.6cm and folding the two side panels in to meet in the centre. If you are using Letter Size cardstock, you would want to take a 8 1/2″ x 5″ piece of cardstock and score it at 2 1/8″ and 6 3/8″.
I added mats of Flirty Flamingo to the two 2 doors” and also to the inside, before adding Designer Series paper to the doors.
The rabbit was stamped onto a stitched rectangle and a oddment of basic White. The puddle on the stitched rectangle was coloured in with Blends and Wink of Stella added over the top. The seperate rabbit was coloured and die cut.
Using a blending brush, I added Balmy Blue ink to the stitched rectangle, before layering the die cut rabbit over the top with dimensionals.
This rectangle was stuck to a Flirty Flamingo Scalloped Rectangle.
A 5cm /2″ wide Belly band was created using Mango Melody cardstock. Mats of Flirty Flamingo card and Patterned Paper were added to the belly band, before sticking the scalloped rectangle in place with dimensionals.
Some of the daisy embellishments were added to the card front.
A mat of Basic White was decorated with some raindrops and an umbrella, before being stuck to the inside of the gatefold.
Die Cut Card
This card features some of the Speciality UV coated paper featuring shiny raindrops, the turtle is die cut from another sheet of the Designer Series paper. He is combined with die cuts from the bundle to create this scene. Some more of those adorable flowers were added.
