For this month’s Stampin’ Dreams hop I have been creating distressed edges on patterned paper.

The Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop is one of the monthly hops that happens as part of the Crafty Collaborations community.

The theme this month is Wishing For Spring.

Creating Distressed Edges on Patterned Paper

To create my card I decided to use the spring flowers from the Floral Delight Suite. These forsythia images are just beautiful.

You can see a full list of the products I have used at the end of the post, including links to my online shop.

Both patterns of paper come from the Floral Delight Designer Series Paper pack. I distressed the edges of the hessian effect paper. I have a distressing tool in my kit, but the blades of your scissors will work equally well to roughen up the edges of the paper. Having distressed the paper, i then used a blending brush to add Pecan Pie ink to the edges of the paper. I also inked the back of the top right-hand corner, so that when I turned it down, it blended better with the front of the paper.

A mat of forsythia paper was added to this distressed mat, before adding a piece of Daffodil Delight ribbon around the centre. I also turned the corner down on the distressed paper and added a staple. This whole piece was then added to a Crumb Cake standard sized card base.

The Forsythia

The front panel was created by die cutting a Basic White Nested Essentials Label. Onto this a branch and leaves were stamped and the edges inked with Pecan Pie. Two sets of the two-step stamped flowers were then stamped onto Basic White card, one in Pumpkin Pie and one in Lemon Lolly. These were then both die cut and added to the label, raising some up with dimensionals. The label was then stuck to the card front.

The sentiment was stamped in Pecan Pie ink onto Basic White card and the “wishing” was die cut. Both pieces of the sentiment were then added across the card, using dimensionals where needed. A bow of the ribbon, some bee trinkets and some gold low profile dots added the finishing touches.

A bit of ink blending in Pecan Pie and some stamped leaves decorated the Basic White insert to the card.

Let’s Hop

I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
