Creating Paper Windmill Embellishments

For today’s post I have been creating paper windmill embellishments.

This card is my contribution to the Design Team’s selection for the latest Festive Friday Challenge, which is celebrating Piano Day.

We have used this occasion to come up with a list of elements that we call our Inspo List.

The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!

Creating Paper Windmill Embellishments

This windmills on this slimline card were all created from small squares of Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. You can obviously vary the size of the windmills by the size of the square. You simply fold the squares in half each way along the diagonal. You then cut along the lines stopping slightly short of the centre. Alternate corners are then folded into the centre and stuck in place. If you want to create a functioning windmill, you would use a brad in the centre of your windmill, but these were just for toppers, so I simply added a 1/2″ punched circle of card in the centre, along with a foiled gem.

The Balmy Blue background is embossed with the Soft Waves 3D embossing folder and the clouds were cut using dies from the Sunrise Sailing bundle. The birthday sentiment comes from the “With You in Mind” stamp aet
