One thing I have been enjoying during this extended time spent at home, is the opportunity to work on my cross stitch. This has already been on the go for a good few years and I normally only dig it out when I am away on holiday. However, it is currently sitting by my chair and I have spent a few happy hours stitching.
Inspiring a Card
As Monday was a Bank Holiday, I thought it would be fun to do a more detailed project for my Facebook Live, so inspired by my cross stitch, I reached for the Poppy Moments dies. The poppies were cut in Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral and Basic Black. I used Cherry Cobbler ink to sponge in the centre of the poppies to add some shading. The leaves were Mossy Meadow and Old Olive.
A square of shimmery white cardstock was sponged with balmy blue, so saffron, calypso coral and pear pizzazz inks to recreate the sunset on the cross stitch pattern.
The “field” in the background was created by combining the “Friend Like You” stamps, the new “Field of Flowers” stamp set, the Painted Poppies stamp set and the friendly silhouette dies. The poppies in the field, had colour added with a blender pen.
The greeting came from the Peaceful Moments set.
The 14.9cm square card base is the largest square card you can create from one piece of A4 cardstock. A mat of black card helps the whole thing pop.

If you would like to watch along as I create the card, the video is available on my You Tube channel.
Supplies
You will find most of the products I have used for this project listed below. The Field of Flowers stamp set will be available from June 3rd, when the new catalogue goes live. Both of the Poppy bundle sets are going to be carrying over to the new catalogue as bundles, so you will still benefit from that 10% off the combined bundle price for a while yet. Woohoo!
