We have a new Festive Friday Challenge and I have been decorating a cookie in a jar kit in preparation.

The festivity we are celebrating for #FF0097 is National Cookie Day, which is coming up on December 4th.

The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge.  Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all!  The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!

Decorating a Cookie in a Jar Kit

a Cookie in a jar kit with tags decorated using Stampin' Up's Christmas Season stamps and Dotty Hearts Embossing Folder.

In the past I have given these cookie in a jar kits as Christmas presents. The ingredients are all layered up in a glass jar and the instructions are add to a tag. The tag is then tied to the jar, along with a wooden spoon. the jar can be used to store the finished cookies (if they hang around long enough)

I thought I would decorate my tag as my project for this Festive Friday Challenge.

Instructions

I took a 2″ x5″ (5cm x 12cm) piece of Very Vanilla and Soft Suede cardstock and shaped the ends with the Delightful Tag Topper. The Soft Suede tag was then embossed with the Dotty Hearts Embossing Folder to give it some texture. Using the Christmas Season Stamp set and Real Red, Old Olive and Soft Suede ink, I added holly leaves, berries and dots to the edges of the Very Vanilla tag. Taking a blending brush, I blended some Soft Suede ink around the edges.

The tags were layered on top of each other, and stuck in an offset position using dimensionals.

Once the spoon had been tied to the jar with some Real Red ribbon, the tag was attached using some linen thread.

What was in the Jar?

In case you are interested this was the recipe I used to fill the jar – I just used raisins instead of chocolate chips and omitted the walnuts.

As the jar was for display purposes, I then emptied the contents into a bowl, followed the instructions and we ate the cookies. Yum.

Let’s Hop

I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects

How Can I Help?

This decorated cookie in a jar kit makes a great gift and is decorated with tags created with Stampin' Up products.

I would love to know if you have a recipe to create cookies in a jar. It is such a lovely gift. Especially to families with young children who can enjoy spending some time together over the busy festive period creating something yummy, without too much effort. Stir, bake, eat.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can help with your purchases, or if you have a crafty question.

Meanwhile stay safe and stay well
