A new Festive Friday Challenge and this time I have created a dragonfly thank you card.

The theme for this month is International Dance Day which is happening in a few weeks on April 29th. Apart from dancing around the kitchen, I don’t have too much dancing experience, but the great thing about this challenge is you can choose whether to be inspired by the theme, it is the elements in the Inspo List that are key.

The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge.  Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all!  The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!

My project used: blue, pink, rhinestones, patterned paper, music, vellum, embossing folders.

My Project

A thank you card featuring dragonflies from Stampin' Up's dragonfly Garden bundle.

As you can see, the only dancing on my blue and pink card is the dragonflies dancing across the musical embossed vellum.

Instructions

Some Polished Pink Designer Series Paper had a piece of Night of Navy twine tied around it before being added to the Night of Navy card base.

A piece of Polished Pink Shimmer Vellum was then embossed with the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder. Two dragonflies were stamped in Night of Navy and then the stamp to fill the dragonfly wings was inked in Polished Pink and had Night of Navy added with a Sponge Dauber. Afterwards, these images were punched out with the coordinating punch.

The dragonflies were added to the vellum before adding the vellum to a Night of Navy mat. This allowed me to position the adhesive behind the dragonflies so it didn’t show through the vellum. This mat was then stuck to the card front with dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped onto another piece of DSP in Night of Navy ink.

Finally, the blue rhinestones came from the Holiday Rhinestones pack.

Let’s Hop

I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects

How Can I Help?

A blue and pink colour scheme and musical embossed elements feature on this card using Stampin' Up products.

The Designer Series Paper, Vellum and Rhinestones that I used in this project are all retiring, so do make sure you don’t miss out on your favourite items that are soon going to disappear from the range.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can help with your purchases, or if you have a crafty question.

Meanwhile stay safe and stay well
