Each month I try and take part in the Blog Hop with the training team I am part of. I didn’t manage last month, but I am back today.

The Peaceful poppies Elements are a little gem of a product, that can get a little lost amongst all the other beautiful things in the Peaceful Poppies suite. It would, however, be a shame to pass them on by. It has been Bank Holiday Monday here in the UK and I decided this morning, during my Live, that I would have a play with them.

They are just perfect to use on a mini pop up box card like this. Having cut and scored the card, I used some of the papers from the Peaceful Poppies collection to decorate the sides and flaps. I added a mixture of the different card poppy elements to the card, building them up with dimensionals and glue dots. Some vellum leaves and poppies were added in. I trimmed down the black embossed borders to give a lace trim on the flaps and back and the sentiments, from the Peaceful Moments stamp set, were all heat embossed with white embossing powder.

These sorts of cards are not complicated, but it does take time to build them up.

Bonus Thank You

When I had finished my card, I had some oddments of paper, and elements on my desk. So it only seemed right to use them. Hence a second card was born.

This simple little 9.9cm square Old Olive card, has a 9.5cm mat of Old Olive card stock and a strip of the Designer Series Paper. The black embossed circle from the elements pack was tucked under the paper strip. I took a couple of the vellum poppies, trimmed the bud from one and then coloured them on the reverse with Stampin’ Blends in Poppy Parade and Old Olive. I stuck these to the back of the half banner I had left, which had the greeting embossed with white. The banner was then stuck to the card front, positioned so the flowers sat in the circle. It was finished with a twine bow from the Country Club set and some of the poppy sequins. A simple little card, but very pretty.
