While we were on holiday in Norfolk last year, Mike and I were browsing in a shop selling kitchen gadgets. I happened to mention I would like one of those gadgets that peels, cores and slices your pineapple. We couldn’t find one, despite looking in other shops.

For my birthday a month later, one of my gifts from Mike was a pineapple gadget. I love it. It makes the process of preparing a pineapple a breeze.

It is unsurprising then, that I should be tempted at the prospect of a pineapple card, especially if it is easy to prepare.

The Tropical Oasis Suite is bursting with bright colours and large blooms which enable you to create some fabulous cards

Let’s Get Fruity

But tucked away amongst the flowers there are stamps and dies that enable you to bring pineapples to your crafting.

I used daffodil delight for the pineapple die cuts and sponged over them with soft suede ink. I cut a backing for my pineapples also in soft suede. The leafy tops were cut in old olive card. The background mat was embossed with the wonderful coastal weave embossing mat that is also in this suite. Again it was sponged with soft suede ink.

The sentiment from the Timeless Tropical stamp set was die cut with one of the stitched so sweetly dies. This great little new die set is perfect for all your sentiments. I sponged that too to help it blend in.

I simply mounted it onto a soft suede mat and then onto a white card base. The finishing touch was some of the gold sequins from the Peaceful Poppies set.

They look good enough to eat
