Today I have created a hearts and flowers Valentine Card for the new Festive Friday Challenge.
This new Challenge is celebrating St Valentine’s Day which is now fast approaching, I stuck with the Valentine theme for my heart and flower project, as I picked my choices from the Inspo List.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: Red, Pink, Sparkle, Romantic Sentiment, Ribbon, Hearts, Watercolour, Aperture
My Hearts and Flowers Valentine Card
The flowers in my card are from the Boughs and Blossoms Bundle. This is a punch and stamp bundle. The punch gives you 2 different types of foliage and I have used the punch for the vellum leaves on this card.
My starting point for this project was, however, the ribbon and layering up the different textures.
Instructions
The card base for this project is a standard tent fold in Basic Black. The mat on the top has a circle aperture cut from it with the largest Layering Circle Die. The bottom section was embossed with one of the Dotty Heart embossing folders.
A Real Red watercolour wash was added to a smaller mat of Shimmery White cardstock. The sentiment and hearts were stamped over this wash which has a pink tone. The embossed mat was layered over the top with dimensionals and both layers were stuck to the card base.
There are three different types of ribbon in this “bow”. There is a piece of the silver metallic mesh, a swirl of Real Red ruffled ribbon and some Frayed White ribbon fibres, These have all been tied together, then added to the card front along with some stamped and fussy cut flowers. The flowers were painted with Wink of Stella to add some sparkle and finally red rhinestones added some bling.
The panel on the inside of the card has been stamped with another flower and some hearts.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
