For this month’s Casually Crafting Blog hop, I have been heat embossing on Christmas Cards for this month’s colour challenge.
The idea behind this blog hop is to show that you can create beautiful cards even if you don’t have lots of equipment. These beautiful cards are great for crafters who are just starting out, but even avid crafters will love to try these designs.
This month we have a Colour Challenge and we are going to use the colours Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Gols. a really festive combination.
I decided to use the Lights Aglow Suite for my projects, without using the dies. If you do have a Die Cutting Machine, these dies are gorgeous, so don’t overlook them altogether.
Heat Embossing on Christmas Cards
As well as stamps and dies, there are some beautiful papers in this suite, including Glimmer Paper and Festive Foils as well as a 6″ x 6″ pack of opulent foiled DSP. These enable to you to add some beautiful sparkle to your projects and they just call out for Gold Heat Embossing.
For many card makers, heat embossing is one of the earliest WOW techniques we come across and the magic never goes away. Dull powder because metallic bling. I know that was certainly the case for me 20 plus years ago.
All Is Merry & Bright
This card uses panels of DSP on the card base and and that frame on the front is from one of the sheets of DSP. I simply heat embossed the sentiment and backed it with some gold Glimmer Paper. Some Festive Pearls, which are also in the Suite, were used to embellish the card, along with an Evening Evergreen bow.
Merry Christmas
This second card is a stamped image on Basic White card stock. Again the panel has a Glimmer Paper background. The Soft Succulent card stock that it is layered on has been heat embossed with a star banner stamp. Some more Festive Pearls have been used to decorate the tree and a swirl of Soft Succulent ribbon has been added behind the sentiment. i love the script in this sentiment.
See the Video
You can see both these cards being created in this video of a recent Live. The internet was being a little difficult in places!
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
