Hello Spring – An Easter Basket Card

This card just makes me smile every time I look at it. Soft colours, a sweet little bunny, and lots of texture – it really feels like spring has arrived on my craft desk.

A soft spring background

I began with the background, using patterned paper from the Joy of Easter Designer Series Paper pack. I love how these papers do so much of the work for you – the soft pink sky and fresh green grass instantly create a springtime scene without needing lots of extra layers or stamping.

The gentle, watercoloured style makes it perfect for Easter and spring projects, especially if you like a lighter, more whimsical look.

The Easter basket focal point

The main focal point of the card comes from the Easter Basket Bundle. I stamped the adorable rabbit and coloured him using Gray Granite and Pretty in Pink Stampin’ Blends, keeping the shading soft so it suited the background papers.

The dies in this bundle are such a highlight. They not only cut out the basket shape but also include the woven strips, which you can thread through to create a realistic basket texture. It’s a simple step, but it adds so much depth and interest to the card.

Extra texture and detail

To finish off the basket, I used additional dies to add:

• the basket trim
• the bow
• the eggs, cut from one of the paper designs
• and the grassy layer along the bottom

These little extras really help the basket stand out from the background and give the card a lovely layered look without feeling bulky.

Finishing touches

For the sentiment, I added a simple “hello, spring” greeting. I love keeping sentiments fairly clean on cards like this so they don’t distract from the main focal point.

Mounted onto a white card base, the whole design feels fresh, bright, and perfect for Easter or springtime occasions.

Why I love this card

• The patterned paper creates an instant scene and has foiled touches for extra glimmer
• The woven basket detail adds texture and interest
• The bunny is adorable but not overly cutesy
• It’s detailed, but still very achievable

This is a great card if you enjoy combining patterned paper, stamping, and die-cutting in one project – and it would be easy to adapt by changing the colours, sentiment, or even what’s sitting inside the basket.
