As we near the end of Sale-a-Bration, I demonstrated how to create a shadow box card using the Catching Butterflies Stamp set.
This is one of the Sale-a-Bration items that you can choose for free with any order of £45 or more. Sale-a-Bration runs up until 28th February 2022. I have teamed the stamp set with the new Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends collection to achieve hair and skin tones.
My Shadow Box Card
This little girl, running barefoot with her butterfly net, was the perfect image for creating this little shadow box card.
This bright Polished Pink card base was created by taking two 14.9cm x 10.5cm (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) pieces of card. They were then scored them on the long side at 1.5cm & 3cm either end ( 1/2″ & 1″). These score lines are concertinaed up each end and once thy are eventually stuck together they form the box.
The piece of Basic White cardstock in the back of the box measures 8.4cm x 10cm (3 1/4″ x 4″)
The little girl has been coloured with the lighter shades from the Natural Tones collection. The outside of the box has been stamped with lots of small Polished Pink butterflies.
Catching More Butterflies
This alternative project using the stamp set was also created on the same Live. This time I have used some of the mid shade and darker tones of Blends to create a very different look. You are going to be able to create so many different skin tones with this collection as you experiment with blending different shades together.
This little girl was teamed with a piece of Designer Series paper from the Simply Marbleous pack – another Sale-a-Bration offering.
You can watch both these cards being created on this video. The internet was doing battle with the storms, so it glitches slightly in places.
