For this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop I have shown you how to decorate a candle with stamped images
My Christmas Stamped Candle Project
The theme for this month’s hop was Last Minute Christmas Gifts. I have made a few candles over the years. For this candle I have chosen festive imagery, but you can of course have candles to suit the recipients decor or favourite colours. You will find all the Stampin’ Up! products I have used at the end of the post with links to my shop.
I have used a real candle in my project, but it is important not to light it, as the paper could catch light and be dangerous. You can buy real wax coated LED candles and these are preferable, because they can be “lit”
How to Decorate a Candle with Stamped Images
To begin the process, I took some white tissue paper and cut it so that it was the right height for the candle and was long enough to wrap around with a small overlap. I stamped it with pine cones and foliage from the Christmas season Stamp set. Next, the tissue paper is wrapped around the candle firmly and a layer of wax paper is wrapped around the candle on top.
Being careful not to burn your fingers, the surface of the candle is heated with a heat tool. You can see the candle change underneath the wax paper as the surface melts and the wax forms a layer over the tissue paper. the wax in the wax paper helps to keep the surfaces smooth.
I die cut the large foliage piece from the Christmas Pinecone dies and stuck this to a square of Very Vanilla cardstock that I had embossed with the Bark 3D embossing folder. I added some more die cut foliage and some die cut pine cones to a piece of Cherry Cobbler tag. The tag was tied on to the candle with some Very Vanilla twine.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
