I am illustrating how to step up a card for this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop

How to Step Up a Card

For my hop I chose to use the new Bouquet of Thanks stamp set as the basis for my cards. This fabulous stamp set gives you a large floral image with just one stamp, so is perfect for Quick & Easy cards.

Beginner Stamper

For the Beginner Level Crafter’s card, the image was simply stamped in Memento Black ink on Basic White card. Some Black & White Gingham Ribbon was wrapped around theis white card and secured on the back with Tear & Tapw.

A mat of Designer Series paper from the Perfectly Pencilled pack was added to a Basic Black card base. The card was finished by adding a bow of Gingham Ribbon.

Casual Stamper

For the Casual Crafter’s project, I stepped it up by adding some colour with the Soft pastels. I used the spatula head from the Take Your Pick tool and scraped some of the colour onto an acrylic block. Using my finger, I rubbed colour over the flowers, leaves and stems, I finished with some Black Classic Matte Dots.

Avid Crafter

For the Avid project, I heat embossed the image with Black Embossing Powder, I then used a Water Painter and used the powder from scraping the Soft Pastels to watercolour the flowers and sentiment banner. The Stitched with Whimsy dies were used to add detail to the Basic White mat. I also tore the edges of the Designer Series Paper for more detail. A length of Tear & Tape was placed across the Basic White card and the Black & White Ribbon was pleated across it, Some Black Matte dots were added to finish.

Let’s Hop

I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects

How Can I Help?

I think that this is a beautiful stamp, whether you just use it simply stamped, or decide to add colour.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can be of any help

Stay safe and stay well
