A couple of times over the last week I have dug out some Christmas stamp sets and dies in my Facebook Lives as we have continued to play with products that are carrying over to the Annual Catalogue.

Christmas Layers

Last week, as the sun shone warmly outside, we unashamedly created some festive cards. We talked about how we can add shimmer and shine to our products now that the glitter and glimmer card is no longer in our product range.

It is never too early to start Christmas craft.

For this first card I spritzed the background with Pacific Point ink, diluted in rubbing alcohol. I then spritzed again over the top with some champagne shimmer paint, again diluted in alcohol. The result is both beautifully shimmery and smelly ( but that soon disappears). I used an inlay technique to position the champagne foil die cut, which I had been inspired to try from a Splitcoast Stampers technique. The final glitz came from some rhinestones.

This next pair of cards both sprang from one snowflake die cut. For the first card the die cut was used as a stencil and balmy blue ink was sponged through it. Some more silver foil snowflakes were added. For the second card, the now blue snowflakes were laid on a card which has been embossed with simmery embossing paste to add glitter and glitz. The die cut was painted with wink of stella for even more sparkle.

Changing the Seasons.

For the next Facebook Live, I took a stamp set that had featured in a Winter brochure and gave it a seasonal twist.

The beautiful hand drawn woodland creatures in the Nature’s Beauty stamp set certainly don’t have to inhabit a world where it is always winter and never summer.

By using watercolour pencils to add leaves to the trees and lush grass and flowers to the meadow, this pair of deer are instantly transferred to warmer times.

The little rabbit sits in a wreath of green leaves and spring flowers resting on a floral embossed background. The pretty pinks and greens create a lovely springtime feel.
