Today we have been talking about ink. I had the second of my Back to Basics Facebook Lives, where we explored the range of inks we have available to us through Stampin’ Up and the different features of them.
- Dye based ink = our classic stampin’ up ink in the enormous range of colours. Perfect for stamping, watercolouring, sponging.
- Versamark – the watermark ink, which is sticky and perfect for heat embossing.
- Memento – Tuxedo Black dye based ink, An essential when using youe Stampin’ Blend Markers.
- Stazon – the solvent based jet black ink that you need on hand when watercolouring or stamping on non-porous surfaces like our window sheets.
- The Craft White and new metallic pigment inks – thicker inks that sit on the surface of the card rather than soaking in. Slow drying, but great when stamping on dark card.

Whatever techniques and projects you are creating, it is important to start with the right ink. Make sure you’ve got the right one for the job. And, as with many things in life, it really doesn’t pay to go for cheap alternatives. The quality of the ink and the intensity of the pigment in your ink pads will have a huge impact on your success with stamping.
So we’ve talked about paper and we’ve talked about ink. Next week we will explore adhesives.
Until then, get inky and happy stamping
