The Sale-a-Bration offering this year is beautiful and this collection of co-ordinating Lily products is certainly no exception. It meant it was no hardship to play with these products during my Facebook Lives this week. As usual I have tried to create a variety of projects and styles.
Monday
Monday is the day I re-create a project from the catalogue. This week the project was showcased in the Sale-a-Bration brochure. Unlike many of the other projects shown, this one has a subtle, pastel colour palette. There is both clear and white embossing on the project and the flowers are water coloured with soft sea foam to blend with the colour of the card base. The greetings come from the Lilypad lake stamp set which can be found in the Annual Catalogue.

The Designer Series Paper is perfect for creating quick and easy cards. These two cards were built up using a layer of the paper on the patterned side and a layer of the paper with the water coloured wash side. The sentiment labels were cut from the new Stitched So Sweetly Dies.
Having whipped up a couple of quick cards, it was time to turn to something a little more involved.
A Hint of Ceramics
On Wednesday Mike and I had some time out in London. We spent a couple of hours in the V&A museum – a first trip for me. We stopped in the café for tea and cake and I was entranced by the tiles on the wall in the small room we sat in. They had been created by female students at the Local Art college in this Dutch style. I wanted to try and create a card using these tiles as my inspiration.
I cut 12 3cm square pieces of card, 6 in Night of Navy and 6 in white. On the white I stamped the medium sized lily in Night of Navy ink and dragged the colour out with a aqua painter. On the white card the image was stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder and the image coloured with a white chalk pen. The squares were all stuck in place with dimensionals. The large lily was stamped on the whisper white oval and the colour dragged out with an aqua painter and this formed the central panel.
We were on a roll, so one last card.
The lilies were stamped on very vanilla cardstock and coloured with stampin blends, The entire card front was then embossed with clear embossing powder before being scrunched and sponged with soft suede ink. This gave the impression of crazed glazed ceramics.

I love being able to get creative with all of our beautiful products. The only limit is your imagination and inspiration is everywhere.
