My monochromatic card in shades of red is my contribution to this month’s hop. The theme for this month is Red Hot Love – a monochromatic card using whatever shades of red.

My Monochromatic Card in Shades of Red

This monochromatic card in Real Red uses punched shapes and die cuts

Stamps: Always in my Heart
Ink: Real Red Ink, Versamark Ink
Tools: Heart Punch Pack; Floral Heart Dies
Paper: Real Red cardstock; Basic Black cardstock; Basic White cardstock
Embellishments: Playful Pets ribbon combo; Red Rhinestones

	A4 metric	Letter-size Imperial
Real Red	29.7cm x 10.5cm scored at 14.9cm	11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″
Basic Black	14.4cm x 10cm	5 1/4″ x 4″
Real Red	13.9cm x 9.5cm	5″ x 3 3/4″
Basic White	13.9cm x 9.5cm	5″ x 3 3/4″

Instructions

Fold the long piece of card to make a Real Red card base. Attach the Basic Black mat to the card base.
Punch out 9 hearts from Real Red card. Stick them to the Real Red mat. Attach this mat to the card front.
Stamp the Real Red heart onto some Basic White card. I used my stamparatus so I could stamp the image twice to get a good solid colour. I then stamped it twice with versamark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder to give a shiny finish. Die cut with the floral heart from the Floral Heart Dies. Cut another heart from Basic Black.
Stick the two hearts together at an angle and then attach a swirl of the red ribbon to the back.

Use the heart border and cut from Basic Black card. Stick to a thin strip of Real Red card. Attach across the centre of the card and then add the large hearts on the top with dimensionals.
Add some red rhinestones to the card front.
Take the Basic White mat and stamp some hearts and the sentiment in Real Red ink and insert inside the card.

The insert on this real Red monochromatic card has been stamped with a sentiment and hearts from the Always in my Heart stamp set.
