For the final Festive Friday Challenge of the year, I had fun creating a New Year card.
This challenge number 99 is all about celebrating New Year’s Day as we get ready to welcome in 2022. The team have come up with some great projects to share with you and we look forward to seeing what everyone else creates.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: sparkle, rhinestones, black, silver, champagne, 2022, die cuts
My New Year Card Project
I decided I wanted a champagne bottle with popping corks and plenty of fizz and sparkle on my project.
How I made my New Year Card
The background on my Basic Black card base is the back of a piece of Hydrangea Hill Mercury Glass acetate. It has a silver foil finish and I liked the bubbly effect. Onto this I have stuck a die cut stitched rectangle of Black Glitter Paper.
For my champagne bottle I printed some clipart and created a template. The main body of the bottle is a piece of acetate that I have coloured on the back with an Evening Evergreen blend. It was then stuck to a piece of Rose Gold Metallic specialty paper using adhesive sheet. Detail was added to the bottle with the gold foil wrap and the Sahara Sand and Cherry Cobbler label. The “January” stamp came from the “Days to Remember” stamp set.
The bottle was added to the front of the card with dimensionals and a cork was cut from the Cork Specialty Paper and added. The fizzing effect was created with embossing paste. Some rhinestones were added to the bottle.
Lastly I added 2022 in die cut numbers from the Playful Alphabet die set and a Basic White insert.
I knew I must have done something right when my husband came into my craft room and pointed to the card and commented that he liked that one.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects

Helen, I love that bottle and your card reminded me that I still have a couple of pieces of that gorgeous metallic paper in my stash somewhere. I really need to go find it. That champagne “foam” was a genius touch. Fabulous card
