On Wednesday, the news that both the new website had launched in the UK and the Ornate Garden Suite was now available to customers proved to be no April Fool’s joke.

If you haven’t yet had the chance to look at the new website, then do head over to my shop and have a look.

The Ornate Garden Suite

If you have not yet had the opportunity to look at the gorgeous products in this Early Release suite, then I hope I can help, as we have been playing with it all week on my Facebook Lives.

Monday

On Monday we created a layered card with the stunning dies and even embossed one layer with the new embossing folder. Some stamps from both sets in the suite were added to this soft, pretty card.

The second card used terracotta tile and Calypso Coral and we dipped into the Ornate borders. The large stamped floral image was coloured with Stampin’ Blends. Some of the ribbon was also added into this card and check out those gilded gems.

Two very different cards. I was also able to create a sneaky 3rd card off screen , using a frame that hadn’t quite cut properly. Waste not, want not!

If you would like to check out the cards being created, check out the video here:

Tuesday

On Tuesday we had a fancy fold and a fun technique.

For this card I created a side opening card, cut 7cm from the end and then rotated the cut off section to create the front panel. It was difficult to chose which of the gorgeous papers I wanted where, but choice made I finished it with a die cut section of one of the ornate borders some ribbon and a greeting from the Ornate Thanks stamp set. Oh and a couple more gilded gems.

For the second card I used the embossing folder, some wax paper, my craft iron, a sponge brayer and some terracotta ink to create the lovely background. I added in the single daisy simply coloured with a blender pen and ink and another of those gorgeous frames. More ribbon, more gilded gems.

If you are intrigued by the wax resist technique I used, check out the video.

Wednesday

On Wednesday we broke out the Pigment Sprinkles for some vibrant colour fun.

This bright background panel was teamed with a silhouette black embossed daisy on vellum and a black mat with a floral border edge. Some black twine was all that I needed to add.

For the second card, the pigment sprinkles were used to colour the large floral image. It gives this stamp a totally different look from the version on Monday coloured with blends.

Thursday

We dug the Stamparatus out on Thursday, for a couple of different techniques. Also used, were the In Colors that we are soon going to be saying goodbye to.

We used the hinged technique for this card and created an ombre effect by using 2nd Generation stamping.

For this second card we employed some “direct to stamp” stamping, gradually adding in all the colours. We also used our Stamparatus to get even placement of the corner stamp.

Friday

In the last of this weeks Facebook Lives, we created a 18cm square box frame in mint macaron and gold.

We utilised the Designer Series Paper the frames, the stamps and some gold embossing. By keeping the colour scheme simple, we have been able to highlight how beautiful the elememnts are that make up this gorgeous suite of products
