For today’s post, I have been paper folding circles to create a card for a Mum.

This project is my design Team project for our latest Card Making and Paper Craft Challenge. This challenge is celebrating National Family PJ Day which is coming up on 14th November. By the time the 14th November comes around, I will have just returned from a few days in Vienna at Stampin’ Up’s On Stage event and I’m sure I will be ready for a PJ day!

The Design Team uses the theme to help us create our Inspo List.

The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge.  Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all!  The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!

Paper Folding Circles

Paper folding with circles using Design a daydream Designer Series paper from Stampin' Up!

For my project I picked a selection of patterns of Designer Series Paper from the Design a Daydream pack. This bumper pack of paper can only be purchased with Stampin’ Rewards. These are earned when a qualifying order reaches £150. This can be from a personal order, or as a result of hosting an event.

Creating The Card.

Cards inspired by quilting and using the Design a Daydream Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

This type of paper folding is inspired by quilting. I die cut 5.5cm / 2 1/8″ circles in a range of patterns using the Layering Circles dies. Then using a 3.5cm or 1 1/2″ square placed in the centre, the sides of the circles were folded in. These pieces were then stuck to a square of Basic White (13.9cm square or 5″).Faux stitching is added around the edges with a Petal Pink blend.

The word “mum” was added to some Petal Pink scalloped circles with Blackberry Bliss ink. These were added to the centre of the middle row with dimensionals. The card base was created by taking a 29.7cm x 14.9cm / 5 1/2″ x 11″) piece of Petal Pink card and scoring it in half.

Using the Dark Petal Pink blend, some Seam Binding and some Pearl Hearts were coloured, before being added to the card front.

Let’s Hop

I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
