For this new Festive Friday Challenge I have created a Paper Piecing Hippo Card
The theme for this Challenge is Global Tiger Day. This celebration of these beautiful creatures is coming up on 29th July. It is with this celebration in mind that the Design Team have curated this Inspo List.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: frame, paper piecing, stripes, enamel embellishments
Paper Piecing Hippo Card
As you can see, I chose a different animal altogether for my card. This cute dancing hippo is from two of this summer’s Sale-a-Bration offerings. The Hippest Hippo stamp set coordinates with the Hippo dies. You can either of these products free with any £45 order between July and the end end of August.
For this card I have partnered these stamps and dies with the Design a Daydream Designer Series Paper. This bumper pack of patterned paper from the Annual Catalogue, is a special host set. As well as choosing one sheet for the background of the card, I also used some of the patterns for my paper pieced hippo.
The pirouetting hippo has been placed in a die cut frame with an ink blended background. The sentiment was cut into individual words and stuck around the hippo, alongside some die cut hearts and Pool Party solid faceted gems.
The finishing touch was a bow of Pool Party Sheer Ribbon.
