A Little Box of Crafty Happiness – Unboxing My Latest Paper Pumpkin!

There’s something rather lovely about receiving a parcel in the post, especially when you know it’s going to be full of crafty goodness!

At 8.30 this morning, the postman arrived with my latest Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin’ Up!®. So, naturally, I made myself a cup of tea, settled down at my craft desk and decided to take you along for the unboxing!

If you’ve been wondering what Paper Pumpkin is all about, or what you actually get for your money, come and have a peek inside with me.

What’s inside a Paper Pumpkin box?

Paper Pumpkin is a lovely way to enjoy papercrafting without having to spend ages choosing and gathering all your supplies.

Each month’s kit is a little different, but they’re designed to give you a creative experience with coordinated products, inspiration and instructions.

And this month’s Christmas-themed kit certainly has plenty to enjoy!

Stamps and ink – all included!

The first thing I discovered was the exclusive Paper Pumpkin stamp set, packed with lovely images and greetings to use on this month’s projects.

And, of course, you can carry on using those stamps long after you’ve finished making the kit!

Alongside the stamps was a Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin’ Spot.

These newer-style ink spots are a little larger than the previous version, something I demonstrated in the video.

They’re perfect for stamping, but you can also squeeze a little ink into the lid and use it for watercolouring. Another technique to add to your crafty repertoire!

If you’re a first-time subscriber, you’ll also receive a Paper Pumpkin stamping block, ready to use with your stamps.

Beautiful Christmas colours

The coordinating colours in this kit are:

  • Basic Beige
  • Cherry Cobbler
  • Crumb Cake
  • Pecan Pie
  • Mossy Meadow

Isn’t that a gorgeous Christmas combination? Rich, warm and traditional, with a lovely natural feel.

The card bases and coordinating envelopes are especially pretty.

One set of card bases features a delicate swirling pattern, which is echoed on the envelope flaps, while the Mossy Meadow card bases have a wonderful linen-look finish.

And I do love a beautifully decorated envelope!

So many gorgeous finishing touches!

As I continued exploring, I discovered all sorts of lovely elements to bring the cards together.

There are gold foil words and labels, beautifully detailed die-cut pieces, banners, decorative mats and even some lovely bordered pieces with delicate cut-out details.

Everything coordinates, making it easy to put together cards that look really special.

And, importantly, the adhesives are included too!

This month’s kit contains a sheet of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and a roll of Tear & Tape Adhesive.

So we’ve got stamps, ink, card bases, envelopes, decorative elements, adhesives and instructions, all in one box.

That’s a lot of crafty goodness!

Easy-to-follow instructions

Another thing I really appreciate about Paper Pumpkin is how accessible it is.

The instructions include step-by-step pictures to guide you through each project.

You’ll also find the coordinating colours listed, a useful ruler printed in both centimetres and inches, and a printed reference showing the stamps included in the kit.

I particularly like that last feature because it’s perfect for storing with your stamps once the kit is finished.

And there’s a QR code to access additional video help too.

Of course, you don’t have to follow the instructions exactly. Once you’ve made a few cards, why not try something different with the remaining supplies?

That’s part of the fun!

Don’t throw away the packaging!

You know me – I do love finding another use for things!

Even the piece of sturdy board that protects the contents of the kit is worth keeping.

It could become the base for a mini album, a home décor project or any number of crafty creations.

And the Paper Pumpkin box itself makes a brilliant storage box. You could even turn it inside out and decorate it to make your own personalised storage.

There’s very little that needs to go to waste!

Could Paper Pumpkin be your monthly crafty treat?

One of the things I love about Paper Pumpkin is that it takes away so much of the preparation.

No hunting around for matching cardstock, embellishments or adhesives. No need to design everything from scratch.

You simply open your box, make yourself a cuppa and enjoy some creative time.

It’s wonderful for newer crafters, but there’s plenty to inspire more experienced cardmakers too.

And because every kit is different, there’s always something new to look forward to.
