To celebrate the 100th Festive Friday Challenge, I have created this Pop Up Diamond Card

We are really excited to be celebrating this milestone and hope you enjoy all the cards we have created to inspire you. More importantly we hope that you will join the fun by linking you own project to this special challenge.

Unsurprisingly, our 100th challenge inspo list provides lots of opportunity to create celebratory cards with lots of pizzazz. Have you got a milestone birthday or anniversary coming up in your social circle? Or perhaps you just want to get creative with some fancy folds. Check out this inspo list.

The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge.  Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all!  The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!

My project used: celebration, gold, fancy fold, sequins, patterned papers, punches and splatters.

My Pop Up Diamond Card

A op up diamond card using the Queen Anne's Lace stamp set and foiled paper from Stampin' Up!

I wanted to create a fancy fold card, so I chose this Pop Up Diamond card. Any celebration deserves some gold foil and the new Symbols of Fortune Speciality Designer Series Paper provided the perfect splatters of gold foiling. I also used mats of gold foil ( making sure to gut the centre to use in other projects)

The image and sentiment were both taken from the Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set which can be found in the Annual Catalogue.

Instructions

Cut and score instructions for a Pop up diamond card
My card was created from a 25.2cm x 12.6cm piece of Smoky Slate cardstock (5″ x 10″). The diagram above shows you where to score and which sections to cut off.

Once you have burnished along all the score lines, you will stick your base mats in place before sticking the bottom triangle section to the base.

The mats for the card were:

  • Gold Foil 8.5cm x 8.5cm (3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″) ; 12.1cm x 5.8cm (4 3/4″ x 2 1/4″); 6.5cm x 6.5cm (2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″) – cut from centre of larger square
  • DSP 8cm x 8cm (3″x 3″); 11.6cm x 5.3cm (4 1/2″ x 2″)

The stamped image and sentiment were both heat embossed in gold onto Smoky Slate cardstock. The flower was fussy cut and the sentiment was punched with the Label Me Fancy punch. A second punched piece from Gold Foil was cut and layered on the back of the sentiment panel.

The Speciality foiled Symbolds of Fortune DSP feature in this Pop Up diamond card

Finishing touches were added with a Bumblebee trinket, some gold sequins and some gold thread.

To write your greeting, either add a panel of Basic White card to the base of the card, or a 8.5cm x 8.5cm piece of Basic White card to the back of the diamond. With this option, it may be easier to write it before you stick it in place.

Let’s Hop

I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
