This quick & easy card with patterned papers was created for the new Festive Friday Challenge.
The theme is National Cake Day, which is coming to a bakery near you on November 26th. Tempted by the idea of a day devoted to cake, the Design Team brought together our Inspo list.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!

Quick & Easy Card With Patterned Paper
Sometimes you need to bring a card together quickly, but don;t want to scrimp on the detail. I was creating this card at the same time as packing and preparing to head off to Vienna for Stampin’ Up’s On Stage, a 3 day event for Demonstrators.
Inspired by the idea of patterned papers, I picked out my Lovely in Linen Designer Series papers and set to work.
Layering Up
The card base is Sweet Sorbet and it has a mat of Night of Navy card stock and another of Designer Series Paper. Having cut the next layer of Designer Series paper, I embossed it with the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder. using a Pale Papaya ink pad, I swiped colour over the top of the paper.
Once this paper was added to the card, a banner of card and paper was added across the centre and then a stamped Happy Birthday sentiment. Some fussy cut flowers were arranged one end of the sentiment and a bow of Bakers Thread the other.
To finish some dots of red Pearlized Enamel Effects were added all over the embossed paper layer.
Some coordinating strips of DSP were added to a Basic White card insert to tie the inside to the outside.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
