I was browsing back through some older photos of projects and classes on my phone and I thought it may be fun to do an occasional “remember when” post.

It may be that the products, like todays, have carried over to the current catalogue, or it could be that we look at an old project and then bring it up to date by creating something similar using current product.

Back in January this year I held a Stamp-a-Stack class using the “Piece of Cake” stamp set and co-ordinating “Cake Builder” punch.

In the Pink

At my monthly Stamp-a-Stack classes, we normally make 6 cards. 2 each of 3 different designs. This class was no exception.

Melon Mambo, bright colours and flashes of black were used for this fun birthday card. The Designer Series Paper we used is now retired, but you can always find bright prints amongst the current collections. You may just need to change some of the colours you use for other elements.

How about these from “See A Silhouette”, “Dinoroar” and “Follow Your Art”?

Feeling More Blue

The second card used a fun technique.

If you look at the Coastal Cabana background, you will see that we punched out lots of cakes and stands and stuck them over the cardstock to give a raised mock embossed look. It looks very effective and can be used with lots of different punches. A Wink of Stella was used to “paint” over the stamped cake image to drag the colour out a little and add sparkle.

I’m very sad that this reversible ribbon has retired, but there is a lovely Granny Apple Green textured weave ribbon available.

I Do

Our final card was a Wedding Card.

The colour palette was a simple Gray Granite and white, We used 2 of the 3D embossing folders – the corrugated and lace. The hearts were all die cut with the “stitched be Mine” collection.

I love these Stamp-a-Stack classes. They are always great fun, both to design and run. If you would like to join us , they are a regular part of my schedule and along with a regular technique class, form my “Class at Home” programme.
