This Shirt and Tie card is my contribution to the Stampin’ Dream Blog Hop.

The theme for this hop is What’s new? I have picked one of the the new suites from the January-June mini Catalogue to focus on.

My Project

Whenever I think about my lovely Dad, who is no longer with us, I picture him in his shirt and braces. He always wore a shirt and his tie if he left the house. So this new Well Suited suite brings back those fond childhood memories.

The patterns on the Well Suited Designer Series Paper are not only the perfect colours and designs for those jackets, shirts and ties, but are also scaled perfectly to work with all the dies.

For this card I just featured the shirt and tie, along with these cool stripey braces. The little buttons are just adorable. The card base is Cajun Craze to match those stripes. The greeting reads “To one of the World’s Greatest dads”. If Dad had still been here, I might have had to do some masking, because he obviously was the best.

This suite is also one of the sets of products I featured during my Catalogue launch event.

The card with the jacket and tie reminds me of my Father-in-Law. He had a jacket just like that. You wouldn’t have found funky red braces hiding underneath though.

It was great fun playing with all the bow ties and colouring them with sponge daubers on the 2nd card. I altered the sentiment to create a birthday card, rather than a Father’s day card.
