Do you use a Silicone Craft Mat when you are crafting? It is a great tool to get you out of a lot of sticky situations!
If you make a habit of using the Silicone Mat any time you are gluing while you craft, you will never get unwanted glue spots on your finished card. Simply do your gluing on the mat, then set it aside while you assemble. The Silicone Mat has any excess glue, and your workspace stays glue free, meaning fewer accidents with glue in the wrong place!
After you are finished gluing, cleanup is easy. You can just rub the dry glue and it will roll up and off the Silicone Mat.
Detailed Dies
It is also great for applying glue to detailed cut outs. Use a sponge with the glue to dab it on thin, detailed pieces. This is great for keeping extra glue from oozing out the edges, creating unwanted shiny spots on your finished card.

Here is a card made with all those upside-down die cut pieces in the photo above!

Mirror Imaging
The Silicone Craft Mat is also a fantastic tool for creating mirror image stamping for your projects.

It is easy to line everything up with your Stamparatus. Place the Silicone Mat on your Stamparatus. Position your stamp upside down. Ink up your stamp and stamp on the Silicone Mat. You may want to ink and stamp a couple times to get a strong image.

Place your cardstock over the Silicone Mat and close your Stamparatus again to apply pressure on the inked image on the Mat. You will end up with your image stamped lightly on the back of your cardstock doing this, but it will be hidden when you glue the piece of cardstock on a layer or card base. When you lift your cardtock, you will have an upside down, mirror image stamped onto it.

And this is the finished card with a mirror image reflecting in the water. Just simply line the image up in place so it is the right way around and stamp again.

These little tools may look unexciting, but they are so useful. There are lots of other uses for them.
How about using them as a paint palette. Tap your ink pad on to the mat and then pick the colour up with a water painter. You could equally just put a spot of ink refill on the mat.
Do you need to mix some colour into some embossing paste or shimmer paint. The silicone mat gives you the perfect surface.
And when you have finished crafting, just head to the sink to clean it up.
