Soft Monochrome in Bubble Bath

On this post I am sharing a card that is soft monochrome in Bubble Bath

Each week Demonstrators from the Crafty Collaborations Community take part in a Monochromatic Insta Hop over on Instagram. Each week a different colour is chosen and the participants create a monochromatic card.

This week we are all creating with the soft pastel pink, Bubble Bath

Soft Monochrome in Bubble Bath

Monochrome cards don’t always have to be bold and dramatic – they can be gentle, layered, and beautifully subtle too. This card is all about tone-on-tone texture in the soft, pretty shade of Bubble Bath.

Building texture in the background

I started with the back mat, which was embossed using the Beautiful Pattern Embossing Folder. This instantly adds interest while still keeping everything calm and cohesive in one colour family.

For the front panel, I added tone-on-tone stamping using the ditsy flower image from the Memories in Bloom stamp set. Stamping in a similar shade rather than a contrasting one gives you detail without overpowering the main focal images.

Floral focal point

The main flower image is also from the Memories in Bloom stamp set. I stamped the 3 flowers in Memento ink onto Basic White cardstock and coloured them with Stampin’ Blends, keeping the colouring soft and blended so it suited the delicate background.

To complement the flowers, I stamped the leaf image from the same set and heat embossed it in white onto vellum. I love how vellum adds a gentle, airy layer and the white embossing keeps it crisp without introducing another colour.

Finishing touches

A simple Happy Birthday sentiment from the Simply Said set sits neatly across the card, allowing the flowers to remain the star of the show.

For embellishments, I kept things subtle:

• Rainbow Adhesive Dots add soft texture without shine overload
• White & gold twine brings a tiny hint of warmth and elegance

Everything is mounted onto a Bubble Bath card base to keep the monochrome look consistent from edge to edge.

Why this design works

• Tone-on-tone stamping adds depth without distraction
• Embossing creates texture while staying understated
• Vellum softens the design and keeps it light
• A limited palette makes the card feel calm and elegant

This is a lovely style for birthdays, thank you cards, or even wedding stationery, and it would translate beautifully into other soft colours like Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink, or Fresh Freesia.
