Take one folded baby wipe and some spots of ink refill and see where it takes you..

I used Granny Apple Green, Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay ink on my wipe.

Vibrant Spring

For this first card I used the inked baby wipe as a stamp pad and stamped the multi tonal leaves from the “Rooted in Nature” onto a mat of Shimmery White card. I stamped some extra leaves onto a small piece of card and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. Again using the make do stamp pad, I stamped the greeting onto shimmery white card, which I then cut from the same scalloped rectangle as the Bermuda Bay backing. I trimmed the white card just within the stitched lines so it matted beautifully. A large bow of linen thread went underneath the greeting panel and the die cut leaves were tucked in between the layers.

My vision was for this card to be a picture of vibrant late spring leaves and I think it does capture that feel. You could of course repeat this card with different colours for an autumnal feel.

Ornate Flowers

For this second card, I took the baby wipe and swiped it down a piece of Shimmery White card. By folding the baby wipe, I was able to be more intentional with the colour and I added in some stronger stripes of the Bermuda Bay.

I then stamped and heat embossed the large floral image from the Ornate Style stamp set in white onto some shimmery white card and then using the same inks I water coloured the flowers. Once the flowers were fussy cut and added to the striped panel, it just needed some of the Old Olive ribbon, some rhinestones coloured with the Bermuda Bay blend and a greeting from the Ornate Thanks stamp set, that was also embossed in white.

I loved this striped background and there was enough ink left on the wipe for me to have carried on and created some more.

Alternatives?

For environmental reasons I am certainly trying to cut down on the use of babywipes in my crafting, so I have been giving some thoughts to alternatives for this technique. I shall try in the near future to use a moist simply shammy in place of the baby wipe. You would have to wash it out well when you had finished, but it may work……
