The square thank you card I have created for today’s Festive Friday Challenge Blog Hop, has a seaside theme.
This hop sees the launch of a new Challenge and this time we are celebrating National Beach Day which happens on August 30th. Inspired by thoughts of the beach, the Design Team brought together a list of elements to inspire your paper crafting projects.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: pastel colours, pearls, texture, square card, sand, shells.
Square Thank You Card
This simple, but effective little card has been created using the sand and shell image from the Seaside Bay stamp set. Texture has been created by tearing and scrunching the Crumb Cake layer of cardstock and using a Blending Brush to add ink over the top. The sand image has been used to add tone-on-tone detail to this distressed layer.
The shells which have been stamped on the Basic White strip have been softly coloured with watercolour pencils to add a pastel tint. Some flat adhesive pearls have been added amongst the shells.
A swirl of Crumb Cake twine is reminiscent of fishermen ropes and adds to the seaside theme.
You can see a full list of the products I have used at the end of the post, including links to my online shop.
The Inside
Of course you mustn’t forget the inside of your card. This one is simply stamped with that same sand and shells image in Crumb Cake ink.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
I Do like To Be Beside the Seaside
I was lucky enough to celebrate a beach day myself this week with a day trip to the Norfolk Coast. The sun shone for us and we enjoyed all the usual British Seaside delights – a paddle in the cold North Sea, an ice cream and some fish & chips.
How Can I Help?
I hope you have enjoyed seeing all the projects as you have hopped around with the Festive Friday Design Team. We are now looking forward to seeing the projects you create, inspired by our Inspo List. Link them up to the challenge and why not see what everyone else is creating.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can help with your purchases, or if you have a crafty question.
Meanwhile stay safe and stay well

Helen, fish & chips, ice cream and a dip in the North Sea. Yep… Definitely an English day trip – I miss those :-). I love the way you carried the stamping of the shells to the inside of the card and all that wonderful textured you managed to achieve

Thank you for the beautiful card! I love it.
Love the textured sandy layer Helen – the perfect contrast to the row of delicate shells. Norfolk looks like a lot of fun!
Love your card Helen. and that distressed paper look is awesome
