This Striped Lighthouse Card is my project for the new Festive Friday Challenge.
For challenge #FF0089 we are celebrating National Lighthouse Day which is coming up on August 7th. This is what has helped us create our Inspo List
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: lighthouse, water, stars, blue, red, twine/thread, metallic, ink blending and embossing paste.

Striped Lighthouse Card Instructions
- Fold the card base along the score line.
- Mark the centre point of the Basic White mat along the left hand side. Use this as a guide to start sticking down alternating stripes of Poppy Parade and Night of Navy card.
- Wrap silver thread twice around the mat, sticking the ends to the back with Tear & Tape. Stick the mat to the card base with dimensionals.
- Stamp the Lighthouse in Poppy Parade ink onto an oddment of basic White card. Add some Poppy Parade ink with a Blending brush and fill in the windows with Mango Melody ink and a blender pen.. Cut the lighthouse out.
- Stamp the Lighthouse in Night of Navy ink onto a die cut label from the Hippo & Friends dies. Add Night of Navy ink with a Blending brush, ensuring the colour is darker at the bottom for the sea. Use a Watercolor pencil to add in more shading to the sea. Use Mango melody ink and a blending brush to add some rays from the lighthouse.
- Stick the Poppy Parade lighthouse over the Night of Navy lighthouse.
- Use some spots of embossing paste to create foaming waves in the sea.
- Add this label to the card front with dimensionals. Use some silver epoxy diamond shapes to create stars in the sky.
- Stamp the greeting onto a Basic White label and trim. Stick to a Night of Navy label and trim again. Add to the side of the card with dimensionals.

What a great idea to use embossing paste for the waves. Cute card, Helen!! 🙂
Beautiful, Helen! The Poppy Parade and Night of Navy stripes are a showstopper! You are so clever…the embossing paste truly makes it look like a foamy sea! Great card!!!
Brilliant way to use embossing paste! So clever. Great idea to offset the label and sentiment.
This is a beautiful card. I so love that lighthouse image and I love the striped background. Love the foam you created with the embossing paste.
