Today’s blog post is showing the kissing technique in cardmaking.
This fun technique was chosen as the theme for this blog hop from the Stamping With Friends team. You will get the chance of seeing different ideas for using the kissing technique.
The Kissing Technique in Cardmaking
For the kissing technique, you need one stamp that will add texture to the surface of a stamp and another stamp that has a largish solid surface area. My project brings together stamps from the Quiet Meadow stamp set and the solid leaf image from the Botanical Layers.
I decided to use a monochromatic colour palette, stamping in Soft Suede ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. The script stamp and the dotty stamp from the Quiet Meadow stamp set were both pressed against the leaf image. Because the ink from the solid image transferred to the other stamp, I used that stamp in the background of my card too , which added more detail.
As I was creating this card on a Live, I also had a play with the script stamp and one of the solid shape stamps from the Hello Beautiful stamp set.
This is a technique we had also explored in a recent Stamping Technique class and we created this card with a flower from the Art Gallery stamp set.
