Using Fun Bright Colours In Cards

For today’s blog post I have been using fun bright colours in cards.

This card is my contribution to the Design Team’s selection for the latest Festive Friday Challenge, which is celebrating National Pink Shirt Day – an anti-bullying initiative.

We have used this occasion to come up with a list of elements that we call our Inspo List.

The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!

My project used: Pink, ribbon, glossy dots, ink blending, hugs

Using Fun Bright Colours In Cards

I used the Friends of the Ocean Suite to create this bold coloured card. Unlike other nautical themed papers and products I have seen, this suite focuses on hot pops of bright colours and just makes you smile.

Creating The Card

The Melon Mambo wavy design paper was added to a mat of Melon Mambo card. This was then added to the card front.

A Basic White circle was die cut with the Spotlight on Nature dies. It then had colour added to it with Summer Splash ink and a Blending Brush. Afterwards some Summer Splash bubbles were stamped on it.

Seaweed was die cut from Lemon Lime Twist card and starfish from Calypso Coral card. The lobster was stamped with the two stamp images, the outline in Berry Burst and the centre in Melon Mambo. After the lobster had been die cut, he was then layered up on the blended circle with the seaweed and starfish,

A piece of Summer Splash ribbon was swirled across the back of the circle, before adding it to the card front with dimensionals.

A sentiment from the Hugs for Love stamp set was stamped in Summer Splash ink, backed with Summer Splash card and attached to the card front.

Some Sunny Day iridescent dots were the finishing touch.
